The Edgar Ray Payne College Scholarship
Ray Payne gave his time and energy in service of the people of Pike County for many years. 

​​Who Can Apply?
  • ​Students who are in need of financial assistance to further their education and training.
  • Fields of study:  Agriculture, Public Administration, Landscape Design and Architecture, Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources
  • Current resident of Pike County for 12 months or more
  • Overall GPA of 2.5 (C+) or above for last 4 years
  • Demonstrated community or school involvement and leadership

​The Purpose
By continuing in Ray’s generous spirit, this scholarship is an investment in the youth of Pike County in the hope that they will bring a brighter future for our community and our world. This scholarship is to encourage continued growth for Pike County students with funding available up to $2,000 for Technical and College level education.  


​Edgar Ray Payne Educational Supplement Scholarship


CTPP would like to make funds available for the following uses related to high school education:

  • Projects that improve educational opportunities for students in the Pike County school system  (For example, the FFA's agriculture and greenhouse project)
  • Travel expenses for individual students attending workshops, seminars, and regional or state conferences in the mentioned areas
  • Special event/contest registration and entrance costs that further a student’s interest and academic achievement
 
Requests for an Education Supplement typically amount to $250 or less and are handled quickly, with a minimal application process.
